Lakin bu \u00e7ok s\u00fcratli erimenin bir nedeni daha var ve bunu yeni \u00f6\u011frendik.<\/p>\n<p>Thwaites Buzulu\u2019nun yaln\u0131zca iklim de\u011fi\u015fikli\u011finden \u00f6t\u00fcr\u00fc de\u011fil, D\u00fcnya\u2019n\u0131n kendi \u0131s\u0131s\u0131ndan da \u00f6t\u00fcr\u00fc s\u00fcratle eridi\u011fi ortaya \u00e7\u0131kt\u0131. D\u00fcnya\u2019n\u0131n \u00e7ekirde\u011finden kaynaklanan bu \u0131s\u0131 ak\u0131\u015f\u0131 asl\u0131nda buzul i\u00e7in tek ba\u015f\u0131na bir tehdit de\u011fil. Lakin be\u015feri nedenlerle ola\u011fandan \u00e7ok daha s\u00fcratli \u0131s\u0131nan iklim, bir de yer kabu\u011funun alt\u0131ndan gelen \u0131s\u0131 dalgalar\u0131yla birle\u015fince \u2018K\u0131yamet G\u00fcn\u00fc\u2019 buzulunun inan\u0131lmaz bir s\u00fcratle erimesini ve okyanusa kar\u0131\u015fmas\u0131n\u0131 sa\u011fl\u0131yor. <\/p>\n<p>Yakla\u015f\u0131k 200 bin metrekarelik alana yay\u0131lan Thwaites Buzulu eriyecek olursa deniz d\u00fczeyi, \u015fu ankinden yakla\u015f\u0131k <strong>3 metre y\u00fcksekte<\/strong> olacak. Bu durum o denli on y\u0131llar almayaca\u011f\u0131ndan \u00f6t\u00fcr\u00fc kimi b\u00f6lgeler i\u00e7in i\u015f i\u015ften ge\u00e7mi\u015f olacak, denize k\u0131y\u0131s\u0131 olan bir\u00e7ok kentte say\u0131s\u0131z alan kullan\u0131lamaz hale gelecek.
